My co-teachers and I have been kicking around the idea of hatching chicks in our Kindergarten classrooms. In discussing it with another teacher, she gave me the name of a mom who has been asking her child's teachers for several years if they wanted to do this project. Her sister raises chickens and was willing to help with the project. Well.....A couple of weeks later and the eggs arrive:

Little did I know just what the process would entail and what a rewarding and crazy experience it would be. Our Kindergarteners are not the only ones who have become involved. We are a small school and many of our students, parents and teacher stop by each morning to see how the babies are doing. We have 14 chicks that are now 2 and a half weeks old. For Mother's Day this year we sent home pics of the kids holding the chicks. They have taken over my life (and yes my suggies are mad) and will continue to do so for the next few weeks. Here are some pics that I have taken throughout the process.

Hope you enjoy the pics
