What
This event is for people with all levels of glider experience, from anywhere in the country. Just a few reasons you won't want to miss out:

* Opportunity for new and future sugar glider owners to learn from experienced owners and breeders
* Hands-on demonstrations of sugar glider topics
* Free glider goodies
* A chance to network with other sugar glider owners
* A fun reason to get out of the house
* Great opportunity to market your business, even if you can't attend (keep reading)

The cost to register is $25, which includes the welcome party on Friday (snacks provided) and an all-day event on Saturday, which includes buffet-style lunch.

When
October 15-16, 2010

Where
Baymont Inn & Suites Airport
6221 SW Army Post Rd.
Des Moines, IA 50321

Yes, we know Des Moines may not sound all that exciting at first glance, but we can promise a fun weekend trip! There is so much stuff to do at this hotel that you probably won't even want to leave. Besides, who cares where the event is as long as there are gliders & slaves to hug on, right? If you do wish to explore, we can try to help you with finding things to do. Believe it or not, there actually is quite a bit to do here.

Sponsors & Vendors
We are looking for people to send in donations for prizes & raffle drawings. We have also set up different levels of sponsorship for both vendors and non-vendors. Sponsorship money will help to fund event costs, prizes, gifts, & supplies for "Toy Time". More sponsors = more fun at the event & more goodies for everyone! You do not have to be a vendor in order to sponsor SSGG 2010. Some examples of what you can do with your sponsorship are creating a memorial to a loved one (human or pet) or giving a shout out to someone in the glider community who has been of help to you.

Vendors, we have an exciting advertising opportunity for you! You do not need to be attending the event in order to sponsor it. And if you are going, sponsorship gets you a vending table at the event.

Please click this link for more info about sponsorship &/or vending:

A Few More Details
All of the details & any changes or additions are being posted here:
http://www.sweet-sugar-gliders.com/sweet-sugar-gliders-gathering-ssgg-2010.html

There are a lot of people in our area who purchase gliders at the Iowa State Fair and then don't know what to do with them. We are hoping to pull in several of these people, so we can help them with glider care & bonding. This is an incredible opportunity if we can get the word out & pull in some newbies. We need lots of experienced glider owners there too, so we can keep a good balance (and because we love seeing you guys). We want to make this event a huge success, so we can hopefully start holding it annually.

We are planning to have a cage set contest and a sugar glider photo contest. I hope to have details about these up on my website within the next week. In the mean-time, start thinking up creative Halloween-themed cage sets and taking some good digital pictures of your gliders. We have lots of fun activities planned for this event. We hope you'll be able to join us & can't wait to see you!

Thanks,
Misty

Just a reminder, there are only about 2 weeks left to book a room before the block is released and only a month to get registered for the event. I hope to see some of you here soon!

Sometimes we call sugar glider owners "suggie slaves" because it seems like we'll do anything to pamper them & make them happy.
