It does depend on what a person can handle, but in my experience AT LEAST four is ideal. I currently have three. Here is my reasoning: Jack is a snuggler, lazy guy all day, very mellow. Watson is ADD, hyper, up and crazy and running and jumping. So you see how the other is not exactly what they'd ideally want in a companion. Watson is always saying, "Hey, come play." and Jack is always saying, "No, I'm sleeping." Enter Cleo: also a snuggler. So now Jack has a perfect companion and Watson feels like a third wheel. Hope to rescue another with his type personality so he can have a play mate.

Just think of it in terms of friends. If you only have one other, where do you go when you have a fight? What if your personalities clash? Out of three others, you're likely to find an ideal companion.

You could get lucky and have two that love each other perfectly. In which case, sure have two.

The only things to be said for sure: don't have one sad lonely little guy and don't have so many you can't properly socialize or care for them.

I agree that it depends on the person and their ability to give them the proper care. I have 2 and I think I would like one more maybe 2 at the most and that would be all I could handle. Others are different and i think its awesome to hear others stories. I'll stick to small numbers personally.

I think it all depends on what a person can handle. Some people can handle having just a pair, while others, as it's already been stated can handle many more.

I think a better question would be how many colonies should a person have. I have five gliders in two colonies. That is my maximum. Im still able to give both colonies the loving they need. Sure i might be able to add a third colony, but i dont want to stretch myslf too thin.

depends on how much space, time, money, cages and help you have to take care of it all. Ed(luckyglider) has i think 90. Im sure val(something to believe in) is close to his number. Terry(Kazko) has alot as well. But all them have been doing it for years and also rescue
