Hey guys. I could really use some advice.

I adopted a sugar glider yesterday (late last night, as I got off work late)

The guy who sold it to me told me that it was a girl (way before hand). I wasn't thinking apparently and didn't think to check to make sure. Well I got home today and noticed that he has poms. Great. I was sold a male.

The huuuuuuuge problem is, I have a neutered male and a female already. There's no way I can afford another neutering (just paid $260 for Momos neutering) and my boyfriend doesn't want to risk babies. I'm so upset right now. I also had the new glider in a separate cage and Momo was literally trying to attack him through the bars!! (There's no way he could harm him since the cages are apart).

Also, I messages the guy who sold me him, and let him know that I'm really upset and would like to give him back but he's ignoring me. :( I just don't know what to do. I know it's really unwise to keep intact and neutered males together too :(

Maybe you could talk to a rescue and see if you can trade him for a female? I don't know if they do that kind of thing, but it's worth a try.

Yeah I understand the crabbiness, it's just a lot worse than it was with Momo and Stella! I'm sure it'll lighten up, I can just tell that he was never handled. It's so sad that people buy gliders and think they're just cage animals. I can pretty much tell that was the case with this guy.

And that's refreshing to know that your males are okay with each other now! It does give me a bit of hope. :)

I've gotten a few inquiries from people but it just seems like no one knows a THING about gliders... I don't want to give him to someone who is uneducated about them. I'm thinking about keeping him and working with him and Momo, hopefully everything will work out!

It's not that uncommon, I once glidersitted 2 "little girls" for someone who contacted me from facebook, and.. I realized quite soon that one of those girls was not a girl at all, it can be quite difficult to see on young ones especially if they are not bonded. (when their human learn she had a couple instead of a pair, she did not want them back, so they ended up in my colony).

The fact that he is crabby and agressive is not necessarily a surprise, he's young and just arrived in a place he doesnt know, where he can smell other gliders who are strangers to him, it's really scary.and the fact that your male is agressive toward him right now doesnt mean that he is going to be so all the time, I have 1 meutered male with intact males and it works fine, but it took several months to introduce them.

I wish I could go and just yell at him! How could someone not know the gender differences?!

I have considered trying to re sell and I do have an ad listed at the moment but gliders are very hard to sell in my area :(

The little guy also is very very very aggressive and crabby. It just makes me sad. If it weren't for Momo wanting to kill him already I might consider keeping him and breeding my girl but I feel like that would be wrong. Ugh! This whole thing just sucks.

You could also try re-selling the glider?

I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. Did you pick the glider up from the breeder's place? If so I think you should go over there.

If you didn't then idk what you could do.
