I have two sugar gliders one is just at 1.5 years old and I've just gotten a cage mate for her. The new glider I've just adopted is supposed to be 3 years old. However I've notice some peculiarities about her. She not at all the weight she is supposed to be, coming in at only 78 grams while my other glider is a bit of a chonker at 142 grams. She seems to be eating well and is super sweet. She never crabs or bites and she hasn't barked at all since I've had her. She also smelled much more strongly than my other glider and her urine is also pretty stinky. I'm concerned that the guy I bought her from wasn't being truthful about her age and that she might be older than I was told or hat she has some sort of other health problems. Perhaps she's had lots of babies? I'm wondering if anybody has any tips to help her get to a healthy weight. Also if anyone knows how to tell how old a sugar glider is or if they've had joeys, that would be helpful. I'm planning on taking her to the vet within the next week or two.

Corrections!
The new glider was 72 grams and is now 74.
She is eating well but has discoloring around her pouch. Its all darkish brown so I'm thinking she has a pouch infection

-stinky urine can be from a high protein diet.
- male gliders 100 to 160 grams
female gliders 80 to 130 grams. so 78 grams is just a tad light for a female.
- our vet said they can tell if a glider is young or NOT young, but once an
adult they have now way to tell the age. we had a female that died and she
moved much slower, didn't jump so we think she might have been old when we
got her.
- always take new gliders to the vet for a health checkup.
- I would feed a few mealworms and yogurt drops as treats to add some
weight, but a proper healty diet should get her to over 80 grams, but I
wouldn't expect to much, I got some fat gliders and GUS is normal weight is
the colony alpha and eats every mealworm he can get but is active and doesn't
gain a gram of weight.

overall sounds like you got great friendly glider.
