Lately my male sugar glider 8 years old has been making a noise that sounds like quiet muffled crabbing when he’s breathing. Only seems to happen when he’s awake. Whenever he’s sleeping he makes no sound. I’ve noticed it for a few months lately and not sure what it could be. I’ve help my ear against his chest and haven’t heard anything that seems abnormal to me. Not sure how to post videos on here since I’m a new user.

The sound sounded like a creature whining/crying - pain from breathing, huh... Grateful you were graced with getting him healed - a blessing he is all right now - may he live long and prosper!

Took him to the vet a few weeks ago and it turned out he had an upper respiratory infection and was having a difficult time breathing. We had him on antibiotics for a week and he’s back to normal now! Also he has a cage mate so I don’t think that was him being depressed because they’re pretty active together.

That's crying - is this Sugar Glider alone? If so, get a companion QUICK, or give him away to someone who already has suggies - you must act quick, for he is stressed if he does this a lot, then depression is around the corner along with an early death... damn!
