Iowa Misty(Dorman)& Larry(my hubby)got together on Saturday,& they are in the 1st stages of a get together,maybe in October.Larry mentioned getting rooms that would be rite off the interstate,one that would have a meeting room in them,for visiting,learning,& vending.maybe have something like from check in on Friday,to check out on Sunday(?)if anyone would get w/Misty, or Larry vodeniks@hotmail.com or answer w/me would be great!!

Thanks for posting about this, Josefine. I just wanted to post a correct link to our event. One of the links above was wrong & the other was an email address for our Google Group. All of the details about the Sweet Sugar Gliders Gathering (SSGG) 2010 event is here:

The event is being held Oct 15th & 16th. As Josefine mentioned, we want to see people coming from all levels of glider experience & from all over the country. We also need vendors & sponsors to help make this event successful. You don't have to attend to sponsor & get some advertising space. We're also hoping to do a photo contest & possibly a cage set contest. Please check our site for more details.

if there are ppl who would want to come to this,please do,{as i need all the help i can ever get}(if you've read my previous posts!!)& this way we can get to know each other in person,& have a fun time!!!there aren't enough chiefs, & way too many indians out there.i hope to be able to become a chief someday, but that will be YEARS down the road,hopefully i'll get somewhat smarter!!!!!!!

we are looking for hotels in ankeny, now. something close to iowa misty.
they have decided it would be in middle of october, around the 15th. we would love to have as many as possible come, who live in the surrounding states, & then some!! we will want teachers, as most will be students(myself). & we will also need vendors,too!! what we also plan on trying to do, is hand out fliers to everyone that buys a sugar glider @ the iowa state fair, in august. also, go to various vets w/info for gliders, & the many websites for help w/the newbies.

this will be a first for iowa, & we are hoping it will be a success.

I am sure most of the bigger chains of hotels probally would. I would just call around and see. You would want to do that as soon as possible to make sure you can book it ahead of time while it is free. If you can't find one that does I know there is one at the botantical center which is downtown so it wouldn't be to far to travel to get to from a hotel. I don't know only some suggestions. |

Are you saying you are looking for a hotel right of the interstate that has those things available sorry I am a little slow today lol. But I live in Des Moines and I think there may be quite a few to choose from if that is what you are looking for? |
