My male sugar glider was recently neutered and decided to pick at himself. We ended up having to put an e-jacket on him for about a month. It's now off and he is recovering nicely. Although we have noticed when he gets up and comes out of the pouch he starts making noises similar to his mates singing when she has a joey in pouch. He even shakes Very hard similar to his mate. Curious if he is in pain or just adjusting to not having his old body parts. He acts normal and eats and plays, after being up for a few minutes I don't hear the noise or shaking anymore. Any ideas would be great.

hmm, are you on facebook ? can you get a video of the noise and shaking??

I don't make speculations, or diagnosis ... but I am part of a group of people that help with medical issues, we can put a team together to think tank and try to figure out whats going on.

I would say it is literally exactly like when a mother glider sings to their joeys in pouch. It is loud and it's his stomach and back legs that briefly shake in sync with the sound.

What do you mean singing? is it considerably louder than a female singing to joeys?

can you describe the shaking better, is it like a seizure?
