I rescued a male a few weeks ago from a friend. He came with a water bottle so I assumed that he knew how to drink from it. Now that I think about it I actually have no idea if he can. I haven't seen him drink from it, but I also don't watch him at night since he's in another room. When ever I'm in the room he's either hiding or trying to play with me. After about a week the water bottle is practically untouched. I put a water bowl in today just in case.

How can I tell if he's drinking from it?

I'll try giving him some Gatorade. God knows I have a lot of that in my house XD.

Try orange? My gliders love mandarins. IDK if it would really matter as long as it smells sweet. One of my kids left a bottle of Gatorade on the table one night and "ace" must have been starring at it all night cause first thing he did when he got out the next morning was jump over and try to get the bottle open lol I poured some in the lid for him and he was happy :)

I ended up putting a bowl in. What type of Gatorade? I might give that a try to see if he drinks it.

Maybe, this is just a thought, but I am wondering if maybe you mix some Gatorade in with the water in the bottle if the smell may help her pay more attention to it? Just an idea

When I got Possum a few weeks ago, I didn't know if she knew how to use a bottle (she was 9 weeks at the time) and so I purchased a bottle as well as a shallow bowl. She took immediately to the bowl, and evidence is there every morning that she has used it -- there's bits of food in it. When I bring her to her dish she grabs on to the edge and laps up water like a dog. I would suggest giving that a try -- she doesn't need much water, but I do change it every night when I feed her.

The bottles leak a little overtime so I'm not sure if it's him drinking it or if it's leaking.

If you fill it all the way up so it is as filled as it can be, you'll see a tiny bit missing after he drinks from it for a few days. Remember...one glider drinks very, very little! But if you fill the bottle completely up, then even if he just drinks a little you'll be able to see what's missing.
