I put food in my gliders cage and i went to check later on to see if they were eating and i noticed this red mark on my male gliders neck. I'm concerned if my female scratched him or bit him? i got him last sunday but he's super bonded to me and my female one. the female is always super protective of him and acts as if he's her baby. do any of you have ideas of what happened? i'll insert a picture.

that's the best picture i can get. He wouldn't stay still! he still acts like he normally would. Sweet, curious, and hyper.

yes, he's intact. I plan on getting him neutered really soon. I also take them to the vet regularly just for a checkup to see if they're healthy :) But it had a look as if there was blood on it so i got worried since i've never had a boy before haha. I'm glad I now know what it is. ;)

it's his scent gland,

Males have 3 scent glands one on their head, one on their pouch and an anal scent gland. Females have 2 scent glands one at the pouch, and an anal scent gland.

is your boy intact? if so it would be wise to schedule a neuter.

it could be it. He is about 8 months old so he isn't really fully developed. it could be his scent gland coming in. I just did some research and found out they are on their chest too. Why am I this dumb I thought scent glands were only those little bald spots on their heads
