We just had our 6-month old, male sugar glider Bongo neutered and have him home in good condition. They gave us an e-collar and told us to keep him away from wound for one
week but it's WAY too big and impossible for him to function with it, so we're going to cut it down a little to see how much that helps.

When other owners have neutered their's, what did you do to post-op regarding making sure he doesn't get to his incision? Did you let him sleep without the cone
(but coneless he want's to clean himself before he sleeps) or keep the cone on constantly? He does want to get to his incision when cleaning but he's not focused on
it too much but this makes the e-collar more necessary.

Just looking for some advice on how to work with and without e-collar, as well as strategies - i.e. changes to cage, different toys, etc. - for accommodating him for the next week. Thanks!
