Hi everyone!

When I joined this forum, I had "found out" the latin name of sugar gliders was Petarus brevicapus. abut, every day, i see less and less of this and more and more of Petarus breviceps.

So.. What are they called, and what's going on? Are both right?

Thank you.

hello, sugar gliders used to be one species, Petaurus breviceps (I never seen brevicapus used anywhere to be honest).
Now it has been split into 3 species P. breviceps (true sugar gliders), P. notatus (Krefft's gliders) and P. ariel (Savanna gliders), which species is effectively raised in captivity remains to be verified (according to the descriptions, most likely both sugar and Krefft's gliders).
