Hi all. I have three females - two sisters who are about 20 months old and a rescue who is around 5-6 years old. I feed them TPG with the TPG vitamin, and they have been on this diet for at least a year. I have not introduced any new foods or changed anything with their diet or cleaning rotation.

Last night I noticed an unusually strong urine smell coming from their cage. I clean just a few blankets/pouches at a time so they still have their scent on some stuff in the cage. There was one blanket that was due to be cleaned (the one they sleep in the most) so I figured I was just finally getting a whiff of it. I swapped it out, scrubbed the area, and the smell went away.

Tonight, I have the same problem. Around 8-9 PM, right when they started to wake up, I noticed the same very STRONG urine smell. Now, I know what my suggies smell like. This is NOT their usual musky smell. This isn't even their overdue-for-a-cage-cleaning smell. My husband thinks it smells like cat urine but it's not quite that strong/harsh to me. All three gliders are active and behaving normally so I have no idea which one is making this smell.

I will be calling my vet first thing tomorrow to have all three of them checked out, but I am curious, has anyone else run into this before? What was the cause of the odor? Any insight would be appreciated!!
