Is one of the staple diets necessary? (SGS,HPW,TPG ETC..)
Can I feed powder from the pet shop?
Do you usually add vitamins with the staple diet?
do you feed fresh fruit with the staple diets?

If I buy protein powder for sugar gliders from the pet shops, mix with multivitamin and give fresh fruit daily, will that harm my gliders?

I believe that the BML diet is one that you can get everything from local stores.

I was about to ask the same kind of question about the diets. It seems like each of the staple diets has an almost proprietary item that must be purchased through certain web sites. Isn't there anything that is just regular shelf staple food that we would already have? I can understand years ago when they were new pets and people hardly knew anything about them. But being in captivity for this long, you would think someone would have figured out an easier, more convenient diet.

I use the TPG diet. i like it a lot because it is fairly inexpensive, easy to make and offers a good range of fruits, vegetables and protein. There is a calcium supplement that MUST go along with it, and you can buy that from the Pet Glider store.

I'm a new sugar glider owner!
and I feed mine the BLM diet, with fresh fruits and veggies.
You can also put a little bit of kibble(:
Some mealworms as a snack as well!

Hello!

Dietary opinions vary widely among the Sugar glider community. However, I can say this: Always feed fresh fruits and veggies. Do your research on what vitamins are essential and should be fed in larger quantities as well as what fruits and veggies should NOT be eaten. Always be feeding fresh fruits and veggies to your sugar gliders every day. Mine often get whatever treats we are eating throughout the day if we can spare them. I know some vitamin powders need to be fed every other day. ALWAYS READ INSTRUCTIONS.

I would say to research the diets. Research the foods if you supplement with any. I supplement with Exotic Nutrition's food on top of my other foods I give my gliders.

I don't think that will harm your gliders, fresh fruits and veggies are EXACTLY what they need. Added vitamins from stores are there to supplement and add more to their diets.

Hope that helps!
