My sugar glider died this morning, he was climbing on the corner when I found him dead hanging there. A little back story, I adopted this glider from a friend around 3 weeks ago, alone, no pairs, but I do keep him accompanied from time to time. I kept him in my room in a makeshift cage, with food and water provided everyday, and my aircond is always on 23c. He was doing fine for the past 3 weeks even two days before he passed away. Every time he see me coming to the room he’ll run out to “greet” me so to say. But just last night when I came to my room, in fact even during the afternoon, he did not peek out to greet me at all. Similarly before I went to bed I make sure food and water is provided. Since he did not greet me, I woke him up to let him know that I have refilled the food, and I slept without hearing him crawling around like he always do. As I woke up, I realise the cage is silent as well. When I went to check him, I saw 2 pieces of half eaten food and him hanging by the corner of the cage, dead and not moving. Why has he died. What did I do wrong? |
