Hi all,
A year ago I took in a family of 4 gliders, mom(Mya) dad (Zeus) and twin baby boys( dexter and Ares). About 5 months ago Ares passed suddenly and all of my babies felt the loss. After much debate and care I decided to try combining the family with my original pair (Astrid and Stryker). Please note all my males are neutered. I had tried this once before and my females( both Alphas) tried to kill each other. Figured it was best they stay separated in their own cage. Fast forward a year and after many pouch swaps and slow meetings we finally decided to try and put everyone together. Total success! My Alphas got along beautifully and have even started sleeping in the same pouch together. All seemed great...but one male. Stryker is being very standoffish and he's usually my very quiet, passive and shy boy. Now he's fighting with everyone and keeping to himself. Last night they got into a fight and he has a good cut on his head and his eye is a little swollen. I immediately separated them and Stryker is in his own cage recovering....does anyone have any advice or tips on where I went wrong and how I can help him adjust to the colony? I set up a monitor to keep an eye on everyone and everyone gets along great but him. He doesn't charge anyone but if they get close, he kinda swats at them, even his original mate Astrid whom he'd been paired with for almost 2 years now and never had any issues. I feel terrible and like I failed him as a glidermom and hate seeing him hurt. Any advice or help would be much appreciated.
Thanks everyone
