Yesterday 2 large boxes came to Hope for Gliders from Anita. Inside were 4 brand new beautiful stealth wheels that were donated by caring people to the rescued gliders here. I put them under the tree and just stared at them for the longest time. I love the look of the wheels, they are just so preaty and under the tree lights they just glistened more. I can't tell you how much it meant to me to see them and know that people cared enough to help provide the gliders with what I consider the best wheels ever made. 2 of these wheels will go to Debbie's home for the gliders there in sanctuary care. Caring for these gliders long term is such a commitment and a joy. On each wheel is the name and email of the person who donated and I just love this! I will be sending out thank you cards to each person and letting them know how much we appreciate them thinking of the gliders over the holiday season. For most people who own a few gliders its not hard to afford a new wheel every so often but when you rescue every dollar counts and every dollar is streached as fair as it can go. With the failing economy things are even harder and we have had to work even harder and be more creative then ever before. I am just overjoyed and want to thank Anita and all the people who helped a rescued glider to have a wonderful Christmas with a new stealth wheel! I want to once again thank Raven and eveyone who helped to raise funds for the gliders here. Also to Christy for the big box of goodies and Cathy for the huge number of pouches she made for us here to help raise money for the gliders needs and also her donation to our vets office. I want to thank Cathy also for the wonderful, special bonding pouch she made for me. I just love it! To Belinda who donated her pouch set to us, thank you again. Eden and Bingo love it and thank you also for the stealth wheel you donated to us. To Eric and Terry for having this site and letting the rescuers post without fear, for the wonderful Christmas ornament which I will treasure forever and for everything else you both do, thank you so much. (Raven you are amazing!) To eveyone who donated to our vets office, thank you. I now have a credit at the vets office and that has really eased my mind during the holiday season. I don't want to leave anyone out and really each and every member here deserves so much thanks for all that you do. To Jamie, its so wonderful having a friend who understands and knows what each day is like when your life is a rescuer, wife and mother and who you can call for any reason. ((((hugs))))) I am not sure we would have made it the last 2 months without your support, even the kind words helped me to make it day to day. Right now the gliders have many things like jars of yogurt drops, bags of Eucalyptus and extras that they dont' get often, pouches galore, toys and we have some funds that will help us to neuter Jim and Jerry in January, and also some money put back to help buy food supplies for the New Year.
