In my continuing quest to find veggies that Ginny will eat, I was planning on picking up some broccoli and/or avocado at the store today.
Broccoli: how should I give it to her? I assume raw is fine? I was planning on cutting a floret into 2/3 pieces so the size isn't too tremendous.
Avocados: I know it's high in fat, so it should be an occasional snack, but I've generally been giving her a new food for 3-4 days straight so she can get used to it. Would avocado for 3 days in a row be okay, as long as I don't give it to her again too soon?
Serving the broccoli raw is fine but some people like to steam it a little first.(apparently some gliders like their veggies cooked) just cut the veggies up in cubes and that should be fine. The avocado should be fine for a few days as long as you wait before giving it again
The only small note I'd mention is that broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, brussel sprouts and the like can sometimes cause gassiness which can make them a bit crabby (same with people!). I try to make sure to keep those spread out over the days and also not combine them in a feeding just to avoid any issue.
Thanks guys! I gave her a little avocado, but the one I grabbed turned brown after slicing within a couple of hours. She ate some of it while it was still fresh, but didn't finish her whole veggie serving.
