I'm sooooo excited. I'm picking up my sugar gliders tomorrow. I'm getting two girls. One is going to be named peanut and I still haven't decided on the other. Maybe Honey or Cupcake. Also check out my cage. It's finally finished. I prepared the food last night and I plan on sleeping with the pouches in my bed tonight. I bought treats and I plan on getting some mealies. Did I forget anything? Any advice on the first few days.

on the first few days, you're going to REEEEALLY want to take out your gliders & bond with them, but i highly recommend just leaving them in the cage for two days without touching them.

you can sit near the cage & talk gently to them, and maybe even try to offer a treat thru the bars, but your new lil babies are gonna be pretty freaked out at the move, and they're going to need some time to adjust.

i also suggest not letting a crowd of people in to gawk at them -- take pictures for the first couple of days to show your friends & family.

i know it's so hard not to but trust me -- they need the cool-down period.

after the two days are over though, you should be all set to try bonding with them! congrats on your new babies!!

Thanks I'll try my best to not take them out and I won't have any people over for a while.

I agree, give them some space. But feel free to talk gently to them through the cage, and if they're curious enough to pop their heads out of their pouch and visit, offer some treats through the bars!

If you have any you-scented fleece scraps, put those in their cage or pouch too.

So excited for you! I remember the first day mine came home. :) Your cage looks great. They're going to be thrilled!
