I was told that I could keep them in the bonding pouch for a couple of hours if they have a piece of apple. I try to spend all the time I can with them but don't want to keep them too long. Any input is welcome

I do take mine with me most days... BUT now that it is getting hot... They wont travel with me as much. I do carry a water bottle with cool water in a cooler and some fruit. I use Grapes, they have a higher Wet content to me!

Make sure you get a lightweight pouch now that we are coming into summer! Here in Houston it has been HOT!

I actually just found some LIGHT Fleece and then for the outside I am going to try to use T-shirt material. We will see how that works out!

BUT anyway... Make sure you have water with you! Also... Freeze your grapes... They help keep you and the gliders cool!

I keep mine on me as much as I can. 5 or 6 hours is not unusual, but I have to agree with Holley, Texas is too HOT for all that in the summer. I've been giving mine apple slices, mango pieces, basically any fruit I know they will suck on while they are in the pouch. Skittles doesn't eat red grapes for me but I will have to try the green ones, and frozen is a great tip! I'll also have to look for light fleece...hmmm...

My gliders go to work with me & are on me for about 7-8 hours at a time.

I carry my gliders with me ALL day year round. I use only sissy pouches for bonding & all mine have windows. During the winter months my pouches go under my shirt & during the summer the pouch is outside my shirt.

I always have grapes AND apples in the pouch no matter what time of year. I also have bra babies that are in bra year round. Granted I don't go out looking to bask in the 101% heat, but for my normal running about they do fine.

Mine are with me 6-8 hours a day. Keep them warm/cool enough depending on the weather. Always provide them with hydration, Apples, grapes and other fruits can easily be taken with in the pouch or you can take them with whole and give them slices throughout the day if they will be with you longer. A water bottle is a must. I carry a little soft cooler the kind that holds a six pack. I just put in a ice block, water bottle, snack bag and some fruit and we hit the road.

Do you just put the water bottle in the pouch and hold it - they know to drink from that in the pouch?

Yes, they recognize the bottle and how it works. Smart critters.

As long as u want. When I have had mine on me for a long time I just take the water bottle and offer it to them. I pull my shirt out from my pants and work the bottle up and over to them. If they wake up and start moving about in my shirt I also offer the water. Once in a while they will drink, but most of the time they don't. But I havn't taken them out of the house lately but for vet visits.
