Sometimes I do. I really depends on how much of a hurry I am to get out of the house. XD
Today my mom picked me up because she wanted to take myself and my son out to dinner (we're mending our relationship) and needed help getting a computer (she's soooooo not tech savvy) and I brought the girls with me.
I've taken my girls to work with me once, but with my boss just getting a new cat, I'm reluctant to bring them until I know him better (so far he seems to not want to leave her bed, just like the other cat).

I don't take mine anywhere except to the vet. My boys hate the bonding pouch. They yell their heads off the whole time they're in it, even if we're just sitting on the couch. I'd rather leave them home to sleep in peace.

I don't take mine anywhere either. I would be afraid of an escapee. Also the buisnesses around here are extremely strict with the no animals policies and I could just imagine how many people would figure them out when the start crabbing.

I take mine places a lot. During the day, (we're still bonding with them), me and Trav take both Toto and Cammi with us everywhere. They tend to go right back to sleep in the pouch and sleep like little rocks. Theyre both very good in the car and different places, and rarely crab. Although we were at Dairy Queen the other day, and I had the pouch under my shirt, because Dairy Queen stays colddd, and SOMEHOW Cammi managed to UNZIP the bonding pouch and start crawling around on me. Luckily we got her back in the pouch without too much trouble. Just make sure to keep an eye on the pouch. And if they tend to not go back to sleep, only take them places every other day, so they can sleep =]

Once I knew my girls and their noise level and okayness about sleeping in a pouch while I was moving I started taking them on short ventures to the grocery store or to my place of work on my day off to show them off. I really would not suggest opening up the pouch in an open place, but if it is zipped up closed there isn't really a chance for escaping. Just make sure they like being in the pouch and never take them someplace where it is really cold or hot or noisy. Also remember that there is always the chance for a car accident and them being squished by the airbag. But my girls love to go out and about with me. It is bonding for us and I get them socialized with other people (take them over to a friend's house and in the bathroom let thempet them in the pouch or feed them a mealie or yoggie).

I bring my brood everywhere. They've been out to a fancy dinner, to the DMV, work, my son's school (we do little educational speaches for his class on animals), shopping etc.

The people at Home Depot like it when I tell them we are there, and they say someting "in code" on the loudspeaker, and the associates that know Sugar, Nibbs and Destiny come to the front to say hello!

I will have to add, that my babies are VERY bonded to me, and I always have a zippered bonding pouch, and fruit w/ me when "on the move".

I personally believe that part of the reason my girls are as bonded to me as they are (all things considered based on their 'case') is because I take them with me to a lot of places with me and talk to them and rub their pouch periodically.

As far as the zipper, I take a small safety pin, hold the area between my fingers to ensure a body part isn't up in that area, and pin the zipper 'head' to the fabric, so it can't be unzipped unless I take the pin out. I may be a little overprotective or paranoid, but I've heard, and seen a decent amount, of how sly and intelligent these critters are, and I don't want to lose my babies.

i take binky almost everwhere with me. he can't go to work with me, but after work i get him and we go. bank, wal-mart, lowe's, visiting relatives, antique store, fabric store, hobby lobby, pet store; he's went out to eat many times. he's very bonded to me so i don't worry about him. his mom and sis aren't so bonded to me so if we go with them they're in a small travel carrier that zips.

I have taken mine out on occasion but do not do so on a regular basis.

I will say that since the last time I took them out, I have discovered that Gizmo CAN unzip the pouch so I'd definitely have to steal Megs safety pin idea if I were to do so again.

Edited to add: If you take them in a car or other vehicle, be sure that they are not in danger of being injured by an air bag if you should get into an accident. (Thanks to Ashaer for making that point!)

haha. I'd suggest it to ALL glider owners. Rather be safe than sorry. I can't imagine trying to chase down an excited and curious glider at WalMart. XD

I never take my glider anywhere because I've read they become stressed very easily. I would love to take him places with me in his pouch but what about stressing them out? Does anyone have anything to add on this subject because I would love to take him places with me. Thanks and great advice about the airbag and safety pin. Thanks guys.

Taking Cammi and Toto places stressed them out the first time we did it, but after they got used to it, during the day when we put them in the pouch, they basically go back to sleep, and barely ever wake up. Just make sure they have some juicy fruit of some kind if they're going to be in the pouch all day. Although I would suggest safety pinning the zipper, cause Cammi figured out how to open hers O.o

binky goes with me almost every afternoon. you can take them outside when you are bonded well with them or don't open the bonding pouch for any reason. binky is 9 months oop and i've handled him ever since he was 3 days oop. if you go outside or anywhere and they're not fully bonded to you and you open the bonding pouch, it will only take a second for one to get loose and be gone.

Even a well-bonded glider can be startled and get away from you. Please don't take them outside without a securely closed bonding pouch. Read this: http://www.sugarglider.com/glidergossip/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21157

I once had a cockatiel I'd raised from a bald-headed buzzard-necked fledgling, hand-feeding her and keeping her warm in my shirt. I took her outside quite often on warm afternoons, sitting on my shoulder ... she was about a year old when a car backfired or a door slammed, I don't remember; and the next thing I knew she was fifteen feet overhead in an elm tree. I was very very lucky. I took her cage out and I sat on the porch and waited, talking to her the whole time; after nearly an hour she came to her safe place and all was well. It could easily have gone the other way.

ahh the same thing happened to me snusie!

I had a cockatiel who i thought could not fly, and he was super loveable and would just sit on our shoulder and chill. we'd take him outside all the time. Then one day something startled him, and he flew off into a yard farr away. We could not find him for a day, and we looked everywhere and even through the night. I thought he was dead... we have so many raccoons and other animals that would LOVE to eat him.

I was also SUPER lucky. I found him alive the next day in a tree across the street. It took 3 people to get him down!!
