i just got mine off someone who had them for two months, they are 6 months old so he says. didnt seem like he took very well care of them, the cage and items in the cage were never cleaned... and my questions are, is 6 months a good age to get them? will they bond with me easier? when having them in the bonding pouches and they start crabbing should i try to calm them down? or should i just let them go until they stop on there own? should i just put them back in there cage when they start crabbing? ive read more then i think i could handle on this site as well as a few other sites. just wanted to get a little more specific in my case. the one is a male and is neutered and the other is a female.
any age is a good bonding age. and dont put them away if they start crabbing its just teaching them that if they crab they get to go back into the cage. if they crab just talk softly to them and pet them from the outside of the bonding pouch for now. and make sure you leave them alone for a day or two so they can get used to their new home.
yea i got them sat morning and left them be until monday.... i forgot to add i have them on the hpw and a fruit mix diet... is this ok or should i get some veggies in there? before entering there cage and boning puches when i'm taking them out, i offer honey on my finger and let them out, the male seems to be taking to me better then the female. she crabs waaaay more then the male. is this normal?
yes you need to add veggies. they should get protein, veggies and fruit every night. every glider is different they have their own minds she just crabs more then the male cause thats how she is. or maybe she was just handled less then male. give it time she will crab less as she gets used to everything.

just check the CH:Ph ratios before you use it just to make sure its right. papaya is a great source of calcium if you can only find fresh cut it up and freeze it in a single layer.
I don't think you should put them back in their cage when they crab. I think it's very important to keep on trying when they crab because you'll be teaching them to crab every time they want to go back in their cage. Just take it easy and try to calm them down gently. Eventually they won't crab at all anymore. Goodluck.
thanks for all the info, i went and bought all the necessary stuff for the fruit mix and veggie mix... last two nights they havent touched there fruit mix even though they ate it the first two nights. so i switched it up tonight
had some bonding time last night in the bathroom, i who i think is the male likes to run around my body while i'm sitting down. he's crawl all over me, but the other is a bit hesitant and bites when i pick her up. i'm having a hard time telling the difference between them both as he is neutered.
so i switched it up last night and they still refuse to eat there fruit mix only the hpw mix. any ideas?
Put only the fruit mix in the cage when they first wake up. After an hour or so, when you see that they've eaten at least some of it, add the rest of their dinner. I have to do this regularly with my boys, and it works fine.
