So I recently bought a new cage and this one has locks on the door vs the one i had before were it was just a slide down door. well the other night I used on of the food doors and must of forgot to lock it, because I went to bed with her in her cage and woke up to something moving in my pajama pocket. I jumped out of my bed thinking it was my sis gerbil. Then i heard crabbing and Kiwi comes jumping out of my pocket!!!! She was such in a good mood and she looked like she had a blast exploring my room. I was SOO lucky she didnt get hurt! i would have felt so HORRIBLE!! she my spoiled lil baby i dont know what id do if something happened to her! it was a Definant Reminder to make sure i lock the doors Dont want that to happen again! i just cant believe i did that! i feel so stupid! but then again i was kinda cute at the same time the fact that she was sleeping in my pocket.

One good thing to go ahead and do is zip-tie any extra doors that you don't have a need to open. Most large cages have a huge amount of doors and a lot of them aren't needed.

I'm glad that everything worked out for the best and Kiwi is okay. You were very lucky that nothing happened to her, not only when she was running around your room but also when she crawled into your pocket. Yes, it's very sweet she came to you and saw you as being a comfort zone, as it shows she is bonded to you, but if you had simply rolled over in your sleep, she would have been crushed, and this would not have turned out so well.

i know! because i am a BIG mover when im sleeping!! i just cant believe i did that! I always make sure there all locked up. i dont know how i missed that one i just am SO relieved it turned out ok.
