the bar spacing on this cage is too large. you want to find a cage with 7/16 spacing. With the 1/2 spacing your gliders can easily get out.

I dont agree. 1/2" bar spacing is just fine. All of the popular tower cages are 1/2" and nobody squeezes out.

I wish they would give the size of the doors on that cage.

I dont see any vagrant open spaces in the cage so it looks good. You might find better bang or the buck though.

Does anyone have opinion or experience on the seed guards? I suppose that it would lower the debris on the floor.

I also do not agree that 1/2" bar spacing is too wide.

I have a very similar cage - clearly the same maker, but mine is 32 x 22 x 51.

The doors are 11 wide & 15 high.

It has been a great cage and is very sturdy.

I think it is a great cage and I have in fact been looking for a second one!

Thanks, I am ordering one of the 3 available now.

The 1/2" bar spacing is fine. The cage looks okay and the cost is not too bad but the shipping is a bit much. As for the seed guards, wish our cage had them, it would keep down the debris on the floor Kazko as our guys seem to like to toss evertything out of the cage our somehow their poo always falls out of the cage instead of in the bottom if they are climbing the side. I would like to find out more but I am at work and cannot spend the time right now. I may look at it this evening when I get home.

Candy, since you have a similar one, how good is the tray at the bottom? The HQ cage we have now is a good cage except for the plastic litter tray that seems to fall out if you bump the cage even lightly and I have had to replace the door catches with modified window sash locks. How are the door locks on the cage too? Looks like you are the one with the experience with this cage or manufacturer. Any negatives to the cage?

Just check on them if you do go with larger spacing. I guess mine are just escape artist as they have gotten out of cages with smaller spacing.

Candy, when you receive it, let us all know what you think of it! I am almost wishing I bought that cage instead of my current.

The bottom tray is metal and fits well. I actually like the metal tray. I have used large round magnets in it to hold the paper down.

It did come with the flip up type latches which I changed out for window sash locks (requires drilling 1 hole for each half of the lock.

Original locks:

I replaced with these:

The only drawback on the cage I have is that it has lots of small doors - 4 on each side and one in the middle of each door.

Those small doors were designed to fit around a feeder cup and they bow out slightly. I added a small bird perch to each of these doors and use one of my twist on locks to fill the gap (which is only 1/2 inch but I was afraid my gliders would figure out how to get out)

The only time I have had an escape was the one night I forgot to put the twist lock back on.

The cage currently listed does not appear to have the small doors on the sides, just in the door. It is also 2 inches deeper so I will be moving my largest colony the 6 Rascals into the new cage, moving the 4 Animaniacs into the current cage and giving my new Mosaic baby Kanobles the Aviantelligence cage. (Mindy is with the Rascals but will be joining Kanobles when he gets a little bigger).

I'll post pics of the new cage as soon as it arrives and I set it up.

Please do!
It looks like a lovely cage... I just don't know how I feel about the locks on it. And I'm not comfortable enough drilling another hole in it.

Are gliders able to open up the flip locks? ..anyone? o.O

Candy, do keep us posted on the quality of the cage, though, when it arrives. I don't exactly NEED another cage, but... so pretty.

I wouldn't trust a flip lock for a second. I'm all too familiar with having to deal with those types of latches when I used to breed parrots. I think Candy's suggestion to change them out is a great one. Otherwise, I'd never have a cage that came with them unless I could switch them out.

Yes, I do believe gliders are smart enough to figure out how to get out of that cage with the original locks in place. Candy was very wise to change them.

I would change those locks out because they are too easy to open. I have an HQ cage that the locks failed on due to poor design. I found a suitable replacement like Candy did and replaced them. I even took large cable ties and used them to pull gaps in the cage together to make it sturdier. Suggie security first!

Candy, does the cage you have come with a shelf and ladder? I looked at the one on e-bay and it looks like that one has a shelf and ladder. If it does, how big is the shelf? Is it removable? I do not want shelves unless for a glider kitchen. Just another question about that series of cages.
