Your glider is just scared. His entire world has changed - many new scents, sights and sounds. If he was with other gliders before joining your family - he is also lonely. Gliders are colony animals and do best with a cagemate.

Give him a few days to settle in and adjust to all the new things in his life. Talk to him quietly when you are near the cage but don't try to hold him just yet.

Cut a few pieces of fleece and tuck them in your clothes or your pillow case for a few hours to get your scent on them. Then tuck a few of these 'blankies' in your glider's sleeping pouch to help him get used to your scent.

After a few days your little guy will settle down and you will be able to pet him through his pouch and begin offering treats.

You must be patient and give him time to learn to trust you.
