My 1yr. 4mo. oop female glider(Bella) was in for her routine check up today. Her fecal came back good and her veterinarian said Bella appears healthy but is concerned about the bulge behind Bella's rib cage and the fact that Bella has gained almost 20 grams in 6 months (she weighs 138grams). She (the veterinarian) wants me to put Bella on a diet and then return in 6 weeks to check the bulge and weight. She said if things haven't changed at that time they will do x-rays to find out what is going on. She said it could just be displaced fatty tissue or it could be something more serious like tumor, liver problem, etc... So beginning tonight, Bella will be on a strict diet.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so, was your glider okay?
Thanks,
Terri
