OK, so your story telling caught my attention. Is there hope? Of course there is hope. Whether your girl will finally realize that you are the one for her... only time will tell. My extended family wound up with a crazy, screaming, lunging glider, that we called the vampire because it drew blood from anyone who tried to give it affection. Nothing we humans did could calm her down. HOW did my mother wind up with this creature? Because we finally convinced its owner that being a single glider after its mate died when they were but weeks old was not healthy. So... the vampire became the third in a trio with a settled established pair who were the same age and from the same background. and what do you know... the vampire learned how to be a glider! It took its own species to "teach" it how to behave. Now, the vampire is still not going to snuggle up next to you and whisper sweet nothings into your ear, but she will lick some yogurt off your finger without eating the finger off. She will tolerate some human affection from the right source. She will even allow a select few humans carry her about in a pouch. we spent weeks with this creature trying to calm it down; she settled down immediately when introduced to someone of her own kind. Perhaps your sweetheart needs a friend... you might have to share her and become the third wheel in this interspecies relationship....
