Just had a quick genetics question. From what I was told by previous owner, my newest male is a platinum mosaic (father platinum mosaic and mother leucistic). Can he carry leucisitic trait?

If his mother was a leucistic glider then he definitely carries the gene for the Leu color. He is 100% leu het meaning he has 1 copy of the 2 recessive genes required for the Leu color. He will pass that gene on to 50% of his future joeys.

If bred with either a leucistic glider or another leu het glider he can produce leu joeys.

Thank you Candy. I knew it was the case with standard grey, just wasn't sure with the platinum mosaic cross.
