to me it sounds like your glider is just learning that he/she can bark - You will probably hear a full barking just because he can soon.

I have some gliders that bark every night - just to hear themselves. The other gliders all stop and listen and when the barking stops they all go back to playing and eating. I call it "story time".

So reporting back, as cute of a sound as it is, that's him struggling to breath. Took him to the vet and he had surgery and had some teeth removed. But he's ok now! Poor boy :/
