My male sugar glider, neutered, is being real bossy to my other 2 females. He is biting them on the ear if they eat any food. I tried to put 2 bowls in there so that they can swap out if he is being a jerk, but he began protecting both bowls. It seems like my older female is actually scared to try to eat when he is around. How can i stop this? I had to seperate them into different cages but i don't want to do that for too long. Can anybody give other suggestions??

I would add a third feeding station as far away from the others as possible. I would also be sure there is plenty of food- if there aren't any leftovers in the cage in the morning when you take the dishes out, then they probably need more. If there's plenty of food available then he should ease up on being food protective. My example is my cage with 2 gliders. One was chasing the other for food. At the time they had 2 feeding stations- one up high and one on the bottom of the cage. So I added a 3rd station, also up high and in the back of the cage. I started also putting an extra tablespoon of veggies. Problem solved. The only issue now is the girl who was chasing is now a bit fat, but I'll deal with that.

thank you! they do have plenty of food left over, so it isnt like they arent getting enough. I tried to put the food dishes on the opposite sides of the cage but they just wanted to eat together for some reason and didnt seem to want to try the food on the other end. Should I keep him away during feeding time still?

I wish I could offer advice on whether you should separate them, but my experiences never took me that far (lucky for me). For me, the third feeding station worked.
Do all of the feeding stations have the same food? I had also realized I wasn't putting fruit into the top feeding station of my other cage and that was making my one glider territorial so he could get all the fruit.
Did you try the separate feeding stations over the course of several days/weeks or just a couple times? How far apart were they? Can you get one of those bowls that hangs from the side and put it up top somewhere? Can you put the submissive glider at/on the other feeding station to be sure she knows it's there?
And just in case, what diet are you feeding? There may be food leftover but they could still need more nutrition if it's not a good diet (no judgement here, just trying to think of all options).

I feed bml, and they do all have the same food. I put them pretty far apart, and both are pretty submissive. I tried to show them but they wouldn't seem to eat as much as them. I can try to put it up high, but they still seem to want to eat together. Is that weird?

BML is a great diet from all that I've read!

Hmm don't know if that's weird, I just know that's not what I see with my colonies. I would say try a feeding station up high, I don't really think it could hurt as long as you have a good bowl that is safe.

Hopefully someone else will chime in with a different viewpoint.
