I have a pair of breeders I got almost a month ago when I got them I did not know the female(Eclipse) had a baby IP I think the baby is about a month IP. Every thing has been going great she was very fearful when I got her because she was not held she's only about a year old and this is her first baby last night she started to make hissing sounds to her mate and will not let him get close to her and she has continued making the hissing sounds in the cage but at a lower tone She does not seem to have any injuries but continues the noise
Should I be worried? Will the baby be okay? Is it normal for a mama glider to hiss for a long time? Is she just singing to her baby?
I would think she is more likely in heat, if so you will hear those hiss for a few days. when she's feeding her joey, you can't mistake the sound (so called "singing" for a hiss, it's rather rythmically "tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk"...
