Hello,
I hope someone can help me. I bought a Sturdy cage from SunCooast Gliders. It's the 151.00 cage. I'd like to buy another and attach them together. I see it would be a cake to attach the new one to the top of my existing cage, but I think that would be ridiculously high and what I'm really wanting is more floor space for the gliders anyway. Side by side wont work because of the stand. The back to back scenario looks to come pretty close to working, but I'm not sure if it will work. Has anyone done this with this cage? Thanks

Be patient someone might still respond. I think Minnesota Zoo had these cages hooked side by side. Not sure if I have the same cage in mind though. You could look at her page because I know that she has posted pictures before of her cage.

Side by side will not work because the supports for the cage pan and bottom grate are attached to the side panels.

Back to back might work, but you may have to find a way to fill the gap between the two cages when the back of the cage is removed. They may not be flush with each other without the back panel and there may be space between the two bottom grates and cage pans that could allow gliders to escape if they are not secured together with no gaps.

You can put one on top of the other. Drop the bottom cage down to the shelf of the stand by removing the top bar support and zip tying the cage to the stand. you can then put the second cage on top upside down with both tops of the cages removed.

Secure the bottom grate of the top cage as it is not the TOP of the cage.

It would just be easier to get the Congo (Large Sturdy Cage) to get the same height all in one cage.

Thanks Sunday!

There are some pics in my profile of the Brisbane(sturdy) cage that is assembled back to back. This cage belongs to Erica Hutchins(not sure if I spelled it right) she is in the fb glider groups.

I posted them with her permission for another member here who wanted to see pictures.

Drew, do you want me to contact her? And what do you need to know?

Thanks everyone. Yes, Minn. Zoo was a sweetie and sent me pic of a similar set up. I think they will work with a board for the cages to set on and then the board cut to fit to set on the stand. I would be happy with side by side or back to back. I'll post pic's when I'm finished. Wish me luck, I bought and just received the second sturdy cage.

Boy, do my girls have a surprise to wake up to! They now have a double wide cage. The cages fit perfect back to back. With the ply wood deck resting in/on the stand, the back of the cages came together perfectly. No gap! The cages in turn set on the wood instead of the stand. I covered the plywood with contact paper for easy cleaning.
