I recently bought 2 sugar gliders and received a list of food from the people 8 bought them from. When i looked up their diet, I saw none of what was listed except for cherries. I also found like 8 different "diets" such as hpw, bml, etc. Should I do one of those? If so, do I only feed them that or other things as well? I'm confused:(

Welcome to the forum and to glider parenthood.

BML and HPW are two of several widely used glider feeding plans that you can use for your gliders. I have links to these and several other widely used glider feeding plans on my web page to help you locate the information and choose one feeding plan to follow. My own GliderKids feeding plan is one of the options you might want to consider.

http://www.gliderkids-diet.com/Staple-Recipes.html

Each diet has a recipe for a nectar like staple that will provide your glider with the protein, vitamins and calcium they need daily. The staple is fed with a wide variety of fruits and vegetables each night. The staple is prepared according to the recipe instructions and then frozen in ice cube trays for easy serving each night. Most recipes make enough to feed 2 gliders for about a month. My recipes make a larger batch and will last 2 gliders about 2 months.

feel free to ask questions about any of these feeding plans if you need help choosing one.

Hello I'm New to Sugar Gliding & I just recused a 18 week old girl.I have whole lot of questions!!!
1. Does anyone here use the HPW complete or plus from
Critter Love?? Is it Good Staple??
2. I'm Currently using Vionate & Glider Cal with Leadbeaters is this okay??

3. Very concern with this Calcium to Phosphorous ratio can some
explain it. I have a list with a all the Veggies & Fruits and
their Ratios. Have do I figure out if I'm giving too much or
too little, if I do 3 different fruits and 3 different veggies.
Just trying to figure out the best to feed her. Hope to hear from someone Soon Thank you very much.

1. Yes, HPW from CritterLove is excellent. The creator really knows what she is doing. I use complete, and it is not only super easy, but my gliders LOVE it.

2. Not familiar with this, so I'll late someone else take it on.

3. When I first started I worried a lot about this too; I was told that, really, I shouldn't stress about it; just give a wide variety of fruits and veggies. CritterLove actually has 3 suggested fruit/veggie mixes, so you can always just follow the directions on one of those three. Personally, for fruit I give my gliders just papaya because it has a high Ca:P ratio, and most of their favorite veggies Ca:P ratios that are lower than or right about 2:1. So they still get a variety of veggies, and I make sure they balance by feeding papaya :)

Thank You for the Quick Response. So you feel the HPW Complete by Critter Love is a good Staple. I'm not a Lazy person and what something that is easy. I just want the peace of mind that my Bella is being feed correctly with right amount of Calcium and Vitamins.

Yes, HPW is wonderful, whether you use complete or plus. you can rest assured that it is a good diet.

pebblesandsmokey, what did the previous owners recommend? With most diets (possibly all?), you supplement with fruits and veggies

ETA: oops, thought pebblesandmonkey added something new, I think maybe topics were combined...
