 Rest in Peace Peitry

Just Wanted to post on the loss of our beloved suggie Peitry. We found him on the bottom of our cage when we went to feed him, called the emergency vet immediatley without much help from him, I attempted to contact a "reputable person whom I thought would be able to help me and she signed out when I asked her...thanks :( " I had to quickly try to find another vet-and by the time we did he was gone. I then with the help of my very good friend Tammy from MO--I am sure most of you know her, she tried to help me find someone that would do a neecropsy on him as he was the epitomy of health.

We got him in for it and received the inital results yesterday and were told that there was no sign of injury, no infection etc everything looked good. The vet indicated that it may have been a stroke. This surprised me as I thought he had to be overweight to have had a stoke and he was not. They sent some tissue samples out to histology to see if that told us anything more, it will be a few more days before we hear that report. We were able to obtain his body and are preparing to bury him this evening. The kids beautifully decorated a wooden box for him to be buried in.

Peitry came to us form a college student who couldn't care for them anymore and it took him a while to warm up to us but when he did boy oh boy. He wanted you to play ALL day lol and would sleep on my chest anytime he was given the chance. He was a energetic silly little guy who liked to be hand fed and then would fall right to sleep. He really was a beloved member of our family and will be sadly missed by all of us and his cage mate Chole.

As far as her I have been spending every minuite I can with her and have been carrying her around all day everyday..thoguh she is already showing signs of possiable depression. I am actively looking for a companion(s) for her ...sooner than later. I have contacted several persons in the classified list regarding gliders in VA. I am located near Harrisonburg VA and would be willing to travel. However the money for new glider(s) at this moment is sparse as it cost us 391.00 for the necropsy on Peitry (not including the cost of the visit where we lost him). If you have any questions or ideas on where I could find companion(s) for her please don't hesitate to email me.
