 Update on Cricket

Let me first thank everyone who has supported my little baby and me, especially over the unnecessary drama. I appreciate all the kindness, thank you.

Cricket was brought to the vet this morning, I was told the wound was severe. It was so deep, the fat was showing, and the wound would have been 18 inches long if on a human body. She had to have surgery, and I was notified that she pulled through surgery and was recovering. I was told I could pick her up in 20 minutes from now.

I am thankful it was successful, but worry if the worst is over or yet to come.

I know, she is sewn up, but I still feel like a repulsive criminal. No suggie should go through that...She offered me some medicine, I hope it eases her pain. She spends most of the time curled up in her pouch. I am not sure what it tastes like, and I hope it is flavorless. I crushed the medicine and sprinkled it over honey-glazed chicken, she ate quite a bit of it, but not all. The vet seemed more concered about money than my baby... =( She was the only one in town that could help her, though...

Poor baby, that picture was pretty nasty. Did the vet offer anything for pain? How does that work? Sure would be nice if they had a flavorless pain killer you could mix in her water or something.
