My Sugar Glider keeps pooping on us every time she's out!

She is a baby sugar glider and we are new owners. She is a few months old. We are trying to get her to be more familiar with us. We play with her every day, she has been pooping on us the last few days when we take her out to play. Please help. We don't know where to start on this issue. She is also very protective in her cage and pouches.

Is she pooping when you hold her? Suggies poop when they are scared. Try not to scare her, put her in a bonding pouch and carry her at least 2 hours a day. I put the bonding pouch near my heart to comfort them and gave my gliders a treats when they are nervous, you should take a baby step with sugar gliders. Try to make them happy with the treats ;) They will LOVE it

I consider this normal behaviour. You can't litter train suggies, (to my knowledge anyhow). If you taker her directly from pouch to play on you, she doesn't have the chance to go otherwise. If you want to lessen her peeing and pooping on you, I find either taking her out of pouch and letting her move about the cage for a bit helps, or you can gently rub her abdomen while still in the cage to stimulate her to go there. They are scent-driven animals, so they will often pee on you a little regardless.
