 Help with the diet

Okay, so I have had my glider for a couple of days now. He is doing great. I have just one concern. When I make his platter, he only eats the sweet corn and leaves everything else. Should I stop putting the sweet corn in his diet? and I just bought regular honey and agave honey. Is it okay to mix his food in honey and then serve it to him or do I give him honey in a little section of the plate by itself.

Thanks :)

I have a huge need to surrender mine. mine is I believe a male and I live in Colorado if anyone can help me as well. my glider eats yogurt but nothing else either so I understand that. As if they find the one thing and stick to it.

are you only feeding him during the day? Gliders eat all night long, not a lot during the day usually only treats or snacks.

so what staple did you choose? Based on the question above and what you said you fed him last night it doesn't sound like you have a good grasp of what a glider needs to eat. Kiwi Green Beans Sweet Corn is not enough, they need protein as well and a staple to get all the essential nutrients. With out a well balanced meal you will likely end up with a very unhealthy glider on your hands. When gliders eat a low calcium and high phosphorous diet they can end up with hind leg paralysis, Most normal food does not supply enough calcium on it's own to prevent a glider from loosing the use of it's back legs. Staples like BML are easy to make and usually you can find all of the ingredients locally without having to order any supplements online. One batch easily lasts a month maybe 2 for one glider. And provides everything nutritionally your glider needs to remain healthy long term. Most gliders don't like kiwi or strawberries or bananas. Green beans and sweet corn are both high in phosphorous with out the benefit of calcium in a staple the body is going to leach calcium from the gliders bones it's like osteoporosis in humans.

cottage cheese is not good for gliders, corn should only be fed in moderation it's very high in phosphorous You really need to choose a staple diet to provide the calcium and nutrients gliders need. did you look up the staple recipes I gave you on your first post???

I just reread your last post on your first thread, is the bar spacing on the ferret cage a 1/2 inch or smaller? Anything wider than a half inch they can get out of...
