New owner of a Sugerglider...Any suggestions welcome

My family purchased a SugarGlider from a family friend. His name is Bubbles(my 7 yr old named him). I knew the basics before we got him and the previous owners gave me a few tips. However I have a few concerns. First is I know they like companionship, so I wanted to find another male, as we do not want to breed. How long should I wait to get another, or would this help in Bubbles bonding with us by seeing another glider bonding with us? Typically how long does it take for the bonding process since he is a couple of years old already? Also if anyone has any tips for bonding they would be greatly appreciated. I have a carrying pouch with a screen for him to see out, however when I tried to coax him inside, he made this noise which quickly let me know he wasn't ready. Thank you anyone who can give tips or suggestions. Have a great day!

well.on a website i went to. when pouch traning get a pocket tee, after you've worn it that day hang it in the cage take out any houses or hammocks. this will make the pocket there only place to sleep.do this for about a week. after that week , pull out a pocket tee or pouch, and lay ur arm out as a path for them. let them crawl in and make them selves at home.

you dont really have to wait to get him a companion. just introduce them slowly when you do get a second glider. For bonding, give him treats from your hand and let him get used to your scent. put yogurt on your fingers and let him lick it off and talk to him so he connects you with someone good. the sound he makes is called "crabbing". gradually introduce him to the bonding pouch and eventually he will go in there on his own. good luck!-Mary
