 New user.

I'm new to this website, so I don't know how to ask questions or post such things. I don't even know if anyone can see this post. I have a glider, and he is approximately 5 months old. We love him dearly, but he bites me. He hasn't bonded with me as well as I had hoped, and I don't know what to do. Can anyone offer helpful tips about how to stop biting and how to use this website as well? Thanks.

I forgot to add that biting DOES minimize! He will bond once he realizes that you are a friend and you feed him. Do you have a bonding pouch? I carried my gliders for hours for the first 3 months and then left them to themselves or carried them for a few hours around the house in the pouch so they could figure things out and plus, my female got pregnant so she wasn't very friendly lol! keep it up. he will love you.

My experience with my first two gliders (which I got in December of 2013) was... rocky. I got them while they were older and already bonded to a woman who didn't care about them so when I got them it took them at least 4-5 months to bond with me. It is the 6th month and they love me! they figured out they don't get treats when they bite or get 'tisked' at which is a tsskk noise I make with my teeth when they pinch. you must know that they like to pinch sometimes bc it is the 'tasting' part of their bahvior and they don't do it to be mean. I also learned that my gliders don't like to be picked up, they would rather get on me themselves by going from the cage to my shirt (unless they jump off the cage trying to explore then I scoop them up). my gliders love me so much that when I open the cage to feed them in the evening they jump right out and onto me. trust me, the bond is so great! keep it up and I promise you wont regret bonding and spending so much time and worry about them bonding! I wanted to get rid of my gliders multiple times due to the feeling I was getting no where! keep it up, I promise its worth it in the end!
