 antique cage

Sorry, I'm getting all of my questions out at once (: Is there any danger in using an antique bird cage for gliders? My primary concern is the paint. I found something that would be much prettier in my living room, is roomy and safe, but I have no way of knowing what it has been painted with.

Make sure the wiring isn't galvanized wire because that absorbs urine and causes gliders to get urinary tract infection. Also make sure it's the right size. No more than a half inch spacing between the wiring and the cage is a minimum of 2 feet deep, 3 feet tall, and 3 feet wide, but bigger is better. Also, post in the forum about powder coating. It's been so long since I've purchased a cage I don't remember the specifics on that.
