why so much food?

 why so much food?

I am using some new recipes and all have you feeding 1 Tablspoon of veg. and 1 Tablespoon of fruit to each glidder plus 1 1/2 teaspoon of hpw. How could they possibly eat all that? Thier bellies are only thumb big. I think that is a waist of food. I am asking for your opinions on this. I also add 1/2 teaspoon of calcium to the hpw batches. They never seem to eat that much of the fruit and veg. So is it logical to cut them in half? All the glidders I have now have come from different people and all were being feed wrong, so They all eat differently and I'm trying to get them to eat properly. I have tried all ways chopped.puree, mixed veg and fruit, separate fruit and veg. Protein mixed with veg and separate. They all eat thier protein if it is separate. I am making some of the new recipes and thought that alot of it goes to waste so I thought i'd ask you all what you thought?

Some gliders eat better on different diets, it sounds like you have the tasks of figuring out which diet they eat the most of. It seems like a lot of food when you look at it as a whole but gliders do not eat like humans. They are sap-suckers, sucking the liquids out of the materials they eat and then spitting out the solids. This is another reason why pellets are bad, gliders eat liquids not solids, pellets moisture content is less than 15%, they do not get everything they need from them. It may look like it is a lot of food but since they only eat liquids then it really isn't. Next time they eat look around their food bowls for crescent shaped objects, this is the spitup stuff. You may also want to try different fruits and veggies to keep them interested, look at this list. What recipes are you making? You said they eat thier protein, what do you mean by that? like HPW mixture or BML? You should be following one of the recognized diets, and offer a variety of fruits and veggies. It sounds like you are, but the protein part is not clear. Yes, thier stomachs are small, but they eat that over the night hours, not all at once. It like us, we eat several times during the day, not the whole days worth of food at once! Even if they do not eat it all one day they may the next, and it is better to have a little too much food than not enough! have you tried mixing thier protein with thier veggies and having the fruit seperate? I have to that with one of mine, cause she will eat her fruit fine but not veggies. I have also had to put a bit of honey on top of the veggie peices and they loved that! Hope you find some way to help get those fruit and veggies in!!
