Summary of lil momma and Petry thus far, Day 6

I got our two gliders via craigslist from a lady who had gotten 2 from a petstore a few years ago... they were supposed to be the same sex, but she now has 12 and was thinning out her colony. Petry (assumed female, but not got enough of pouch glimpse to be definite, and Lil momma (whose name went from mr. crabs to lil momma after confirming pouch). We weren't trying to rename her, it just happened. I see a bump on her pouch, and so I think that means there's a joey. We certainly hope so. My husband and I have been trying to hand tame them and bond them separately. The previous owner told us that the older suggies were tamed, but that the younger had 0- handling, because she just got too busy and there were too many. So we assume petry has had none, she is smaller than little momma and certainly younger. Lil momma seems used to people more, she definitely is not opposed to taking bribes. I have been handling Petry, my husband has Lil Momma.
I admit, I feel overwhelmed with Petry. We've not had sugar gliders before, and I'd never seen them until the pet store when we looked. Can someone just tell me if I'm doing this right?
We give them sugar glider pellets, but thats as a supplement mostly, since I follow the lbd (can't remember how to spell it) diet. They get chicken, turkey, fruit, yogurt on a daily basis, with me rotating what foods from each group daily. I know they need vegetables too, but they just throw them out so I'm not sure they like them. Their cage is about 4x4x2, and we have a tent shaped sleeping thing for them, food bins, water bottle, wheel, and hanging things for them to play on.
My problem right now (well the first one) is how do I get them out of the cage? am I doing it wrong, or is this how it is at first? Is there a better way you've found with unbonded, mostly untamed suggies?
They will not go into the pouches willingly. I'm scared to just stick my hand in their tent and pick them up, so I usually pick them up through the tent on the bottom and attempt to slide them into the bonding pouch. Sometimes, it ends up with me chasing petry around the cage. Usually I have to trick him, using the old sleeping pouch (which we stopped using so that we could trick them like this). I hold out the old pouch, petry goes in, and I slowly roll up the old pouch so he's forced into the new pouch. It's the only way we've found. Meal worms don't work, I haven't seen either suggie touch them. if I do yogurt, they just lick it off the edges, they won't go any further. Petry does not come out of the bonding pouch willingly, even for bribes, and I don't want to scare her by forcing her. I carry her around with me everywhere, usually starting about 9 am and stopping about 9 pm, at which point we do tent time with both (during which petry does not come out) and then we put them back after maybe an hour and go to bed. Jake (husband) seems to be making small headway with momma, she doesn't let him pick her up or anything, but as long as he moves slow, she doesn't run either...
petry... well ya'll know about that one.
So are we doing this right, is this how it progresses?
