Ok so for anyone who has been reading i have been worried that booger, my glider, is not that bonded to me. So i asked a few questions and alot of people suggested i try tent time again. i had stopped using tents after booger was about 6 months old and just let him play in my room.
Anyways, i got a new tent last night and low and behold...it worked! now it wasn't perfect, but it was still good and it will only get better with more tent time. Here is what happened:
i woke him up about 2 or 3 hours b/4 he normally got up, so this is one of the reaons why it wasn't perfect, the little guy was tired. i put him in the tent with him (which is 7x7x56'). i had toys hanging and a wire cage with levels, a wheel, and a water bottle (with juice though). i also had created a nesting box (plasic box with a lot of fleece in it for him to dig into and snuggle up in). at first he was reluctant to get up and play but once he noticed it was a new place to explore he was out and about for about 20 mintues straight.
He used me as like his base. not neccessarily climbing on me, but he would hide behind me after running back from the other side of the tent.
strangly he prefered the wire cage to climb on then playing on the tent...but i think that was b/c it was new, the fan kind of made it move, and he was unsure if he could play on it. but it was so cute to watch him. there were many times where he would stand up on his back legs (in that ready to glide mood) and just stare at the tent wall but then he would chicken out and sit back down and run back to me to sit on my knee and look at the wall again.
One thing he did that he never does...was jump to me. i was very hapy with this. he would be sitting on top of the wire cage and looking like he wanted to jump to the tent wall but was to scared so i put my arm out and he jumped to that instead. it was great!
So low and behold, i loved tent time. i was in there from 9 pm until 12 pm (i woudl say about 2 hours of that he was sleeping but thats ok). i'm gonna do it atleast 3 times a week (i'm in law school and i can't do it every night unfortunatly.) but yeah...it was great!!
i wish i could have gotten pictures but it was to dark in the tent..maybe next time.
