Well, it's been awhile since I've posted here. 13 hours of school has kept me busy. This week is Spring Break and the week I'm going to introduce Ricky to his new babe - Lucy. I got Lucy from a pet store. I didn't want to get a suggie from there, but I couldn't find any girls within driving distance from me. I called around and found Lucy. She had a sister, but one is enough for me right now. The pet store didn't know how old she is = they thought probably under 6 months out of the pouch. I took a pouch to the store to bring her home in and I thought she was going to eat through the pouch and eat me. She bit me once at the store when I was trying to get her off the salesperson and again when I gave her a blueberry through the little opening in the pouch when we were in the car. She's fiesty!! I've had her for about 10 days. She's calmed down considerably, but I haven't held her yet. I'm going to take her inside the tent with me tomorrow and see what happens. Her cage is close to Rickys and they've sniffed and sniffed. If all goes well in the tent tomorrow, I'll put Ricky in with us and will be prepared to grab Ricky if necessary. I could grab Ricky much better with less chance of getting bit than I could Lucy. I want them to get along. I have a new large cage coming for them. I've read all the posts on putting them together, but I'm not sure how I'll actually put them together to stay yet. I'm debating on whether or not I should wait for the new cage so they are in neutral territory or if I should clean one of their cages real well and put them together in that first as it is smaller and will force them to be closer to each other. Oh, well, I will wait for sure and see what "tent time" brings tomorrow. I so want them to be buddies. Ricky is unneutered and is 3yrs. old. There is no chance they are related so if they have babies, that will be alright. I would like a colony and Mom wants 2 also. After that, I will have the boys neutered as I don't want to have to rehome any.
