First off: Did Chewy RUN away or did your mom WALK away. Did she forget, walk off, come back and he was gone? If someone took off with him chances are slim you'll find him. BUT maybe someone found the sock and gave it to an employee who then put it in lost and found. Your mom needs to go back swallow her pride (cause this is probably gonna embaress her) and ask to #1 see the lost and found and #2 bring a picture of him or even a book with a picture of one and ask if any of the employees saw him after hours and mistook him for a rat and #3 ask if any employee remembers throwing away a sock. I know I probably sound rude or harsh but I'm trying to be realistic.
