I have never heard anyone say ignore it. In fact most people find it very hard to ignore it, it either wakes them up, or they think it is cuter than the dickens, I myself have both times.. When they do it incessantly, it usually means 1 of 2 things..
1. that they are looking for another glider or..
2. they WANT your attention
some say that it may even be a warning call..
Is there a fool proof cure?? NO
some people use night lights, that usually works till they are mature, some take them out, some just turn on the light and just talk to them, You need to find out what works for you,, If it is a mating call, there isn't too much you can do till her heat cycle is over.. My male, who is housed with a female, does it still to this days, he has periods when he will do it for many hours at night..after a few days, it subsides..
It is one of the downsides of owning a glider, but it is part of their nature.. much like you blinking,
