Well, I have read that sugar gliders get stressed by travelling and that stress can kill them.
I have also read that they can travel just fine.
I think it's a question of circumstances. If a glider is used to you and bonded, it may be less stressed by traveling with you than by wondering where you have gone for two weeks...
It also depends on the weather... SGs don't respond well to dramatic weather changes (temperature, humidity).
If I went on a trip with my little ones, I would try to travel in the day time, during their sleep time, with them in their pouch close to my skin. (I don't drive. They would be in their pouch but maybe in a cage if I drove).
During the trip, I would change their routine as little as possible: I would bring some favorite toys, would not wash the sleeping pouch just before the trip, would keep their diet exactly the same during the trip - this may mean bringing food along. I would try to ease the transition if a time zone change were involved.
This seems logical to me but I would welcome comments.
Also, anyone has taken a plane with gliders? Any formalities required?
I'm just curious about this last issue.
Thanks.
