I agree & will add my thoughts -
Stupid people shouldn't breed &
Stupid people definitely shouldn't breed or own glider's!
(You asked for opinions)

: The demand is created by the people trying to get rid of their gliders or get rich quick off them. It really is a vicious circle. Last years batch of people are ditching gliders this year after the cute baby stage wore off or they dont have time for it(most commonly used reason for getting rid of them), moved, work..etc. Thats some of why the ever-growing demand. It's all about hype, gliders are far from what the fad presents them to be. Teens are a major part too. That includes myself. Its HARD being a teen owner especially with a stepdad like mine. Ive fought so much for my gliders, I will never give them up due to a parent making that decision. I dont care, Id rather starve or be beaten til I am almost dead. I love my gliders too much to become one of those numbers of gliders given up for some excuse.
: People are foolish to think they can make a profit off of gliders. I dont see why so many people think its possible. After adding up the food bill and caging, care, medical(well..not my prob, in general) and time, I just dont see how you can get a couple pairs and sell healthy babies and make a profit. Supply and demand- people will do anything to make a damn dollar.
: Ohh wow, where did that come from? I think there are equal amount of people looking to buy as there are looking to get rid of. It makes me sick, but I hold only 1 comforting thought- Maybe the people who buy and sell(Impulse buyers, true breeders..etc) will tell people that gliders really arent "the perfect pocket pet" and people will actually get the idea before gliders become as bad as ferrets. Just the other day my vet calls me up to ask a question and ends up telling me she had 3 gliders in today(well, that day)! Holy crap! She rarely sees gliders now 3 in 1 day??? The kicker- 2 out of the 3 were diet related plus the 3rd one had stress hairloss. Now for the good part..

: DISCLAIMER- This wasnt directed towards any one person at all. It was things that have happend through the years and just some personal views of mine that with glider popularity growing, I see repeating. If you take offense..sorry, TS. State your own opinions.
