The ladybugs would probably best be left out of his diet. I know mine hate them!
If you're worried about his protien requirements, just give him a few small peices of turkey/chicken/tuna fish every night, depending on what he likes.

As to bonding> all gliders differ in the time they need to bond to you. Some may take mere days, others can take up to a year or more.
