: : I talked to someone who said you should use reptocal because it has both phophorus & calcium in it and gliders should have both where rep-cal only has calcium in it .
: : Is it true that they need both or just the calcium??

: There seems to be a general consensus (among those who post here) that calcium is very important & the phosphorus contained in Retocal prevents the calcium from being absorbed completely/correctly

: : Nectar, do you put in thier food, water or by itself?? How often and how much??

: I use strawberry flavored hummingbird nectar (95% colour free) mixed with bottled water (weaker than directed--more water than powder) as their primary source of liquid consumption. They like it, so they drink it a lot, and that helps reduce my concern about dehydration due to being stubborn

Strawberry flavored hummingbird nectar? A friend showed me the ingredients on the hummingbird nectar he had bought one day - 100% sucrose. He found it amusing he paid $9 for a pound of granulated sugar. You are essentially giving them strawberry koolaid. Try glideraid instead, at least it has some nutritious ingredients.
